Each child is unique; so specific individualized educational programs are used for each child based on the current level of performance. We have adopted a functional, age-appropriate, child-centered and activity-based curriculum. We aim to meet the goals of special education which is to prepare our students for independent living. Students are divided into different classes such as care group, pre primary, primary, secondary and prevocational.

Physiotherapy is given to children who are affected with cerebral palsy. Prakashadhara has a team of qualified and well experienced physios, who are very much dedicated to help children.

Speech Therapy is given to students with speech, language and communication impairments. It increases the level of children’s confidence for verbal communication. The main focus is to improve their comprehension and expression of the lexical items, vocabulary, functional communication skills, articulation and speech intelligibility of the children. Goals are set based on the level of performance of each child. Individual and group therapy sessions are given. Considerable improvement in vocabulary and comprehension has been seen in most of the children. Goals are changed when 80% of accuracy has been established.

Occupational Therapy is given to children who have difficulties with the practical and social skills necessary for their everyday life. Occupational therapists work in close partnership with the child and their family, school and other healthcare professionals.
